Why go to college?
Most of you will have to work for the next 30 to 40 years.  You should find a job that you want to do instead of settling for a job that you have to do.  Going to college will give you the skills to get an awesome job.  http://salarysurfer.cccco.edu/SalarySurfer.aspx

Why take a Computer Science course?
What's in your pocket or purse--a smart phone.

How much time do I need to spend on a programming class?  I searched the Web to see what other colleges are recommending:
"Remember the general guideline that for every credit hour of an engineering class, you should plan to spend three hours outside of class on that course during the week."
Expect to spend about 3 hours on work outside class per week for every academic credit"
"It has been said that for every hour in lecture, a student should spend at least three hours studying outside of class."
"Our published expectation for Engineering at the University of Michigan is 3 hours outside of class for every credit hour"
